A science and heart based approach to increase resilience, grow community and revitalize purpose.
Emotions drive people. People drive outcomes.
In this fast-paced and uncertain world, many of us find ourselves stuck, stressed or overextended. In this state, we don’t perform or connect well; tasks we were once excited about lose their meaning. Outcomes suffer. We may recognize something is not working and set out to change. Yet without sufficient clarity, energy or support we struggle to follow through. What is the way forward? Explore my approach and services to find out.
Methodology
- Listening
We begin with: where you’re at, where you want to go, what’s your why and what’s in the way.
- Planning
New awareness leads to a new plan of action.
- Beginning
Change can be uncomfortable, we start with buy in and baby steps.
- Tracking
We check-in and discuss, using EQ testing and technology to track progress.
- Growing
Equipped with new insights and accomplishments, how can you uplift your community?
emotional intelligence
Emotional intelligence (EI) is about being smarter with feelings. Thoughts and feelings are not independent of each other but interdependent. Just as we are more effective with two hands than one, we are more effective when we effectively blend thoughts and emotions. In action, this looks like being more aware, intentional and purposeful about our choices.
emotional quotient
EI is measurable and the score is called emotional quotient (EQ). In non-academic contexts, EQ and EI are used interchangably and given my emphasis on measurable growth, EQ is my preference.
Social Emotional Learning
Emotional intelligence is a skill set we can learn and grow. When taught in a K12 school setting, these skills often called social emotional learning (SEL). To learn more, check out my blog.
