I had the joy to be a small group leader at the recent “Lift Every Voice: The Global Forum on SEL & Antiracism.” While conversations about racism can be divisive, this “unconference” created a brave and safe space. Racism is world wide and takes many forms; the brutality of it is hard and the pain runs deep. And yet. No matter where in the world participants lived, because we came from a place of empathy, we were able to find connection, compassion and courage.
This quote from Howard Thurman was one of my big takeaways. Doing work like this made me come alive. This is a first step for me with more to come.
